Fr. Georges Florovsky passed away on this day in 1979.
I do not recall Florovsky’s name being mentioned during my five years as an undergraduate in Holy Trinity Seminary in the 1990s. So, I only learned of him in 2001 when I started taking classes at St. Vladimir’s Seminary
